A Linear-time Algorithm for Broadcast Domination Problem on Interval Graphs

چکیده
The broadcast domination problem of a graph G = (V,E) is to find a subset B ⊆ V such that the vertices in V \B can be dominated by some vertex in B. The difference between broadcast domination and classical domination is that each vertex v in B is assigned a power value f(v) where f(v) ≥ 1 and the vertices in distance at most f(v) to v can hear (be dominated by) v. The goal is to find the minimum ∑ v∈B f(v). We improve a previous result on interval graphs from O(n) to linear, where n is the number of vertices in the input graph.

Broadcast Domination on Block Graphs in Linear Time
A broadcast domination on a graph assigns an integer value f(u) ≥ 0 to each vertex u, such that every vertex u with f(u) = 0 is within distance f(v) from a vertex v with f(v) > 0. The Broadcast Domination problem seeks to compute a broadcast domination where the sum of the assigned values is minimized. We show that Broadcast Domination can be solved in linear time on block graphs. For general g...

Broadcast domination assigns an integer value f(u) 0 to each vertex u of a given graph, such that every vertex u with f(u) = 0 is within distance f(v) from a vertex v with f(v) > 0. We can regard the vertices v with f(v) > 0 as broadcast stations, each having a transmission power that might be di erent from the powers of other stations. The optimal broadcast domination problem seeks to minimize...
متن کاملPaired domination on interval and circular-arc graphs
We study the paired-domination problem on interval graphs and circular-arc graphs. Given an interval model with endpoints sorted, we give an O(m + n) time algorithm to solve the paired-domination problem on interval graphs. The result is extended to solve the paired-domination problem on circular-arc graphs in O(m(m+ n)) time. MSC: 05C69, 05C85, 68Q25, 68R10, 68W05

Let G = (V,E) be a graph without isolated vertices. A set S ⊆ V is a paired-domination set if every vertex in V − S is adjacent to a vertex in S and the subgraph induced by S contains a perfect matching. The paired-domination problem is to determine the paired-domination number, which is the minimum cardinality of a paired-dominating set. Motivated by a mistaken algorithm given by Chen, Kang an...
متن کاملLinear-Time Algorithms for the Paired-Domination Problem in Interval Graphs and Circular-Arc Graphs
In a graph G, a vertex subset S ⊆ V (G) is said to be a dominating set of G if every vertex not in S is adjacent to a vertex in S. A dominating set S of a graph G is called a paired-dominating set if the induced subgraph G[S] contains a perfect matching. The paired-domination problem involves finding a smallest paired-dominating set of G. Given an intersection model of an interval graph G with ...
